Another visit of students and teachers took place at a partner school of the D. João II school, this time to Birzäi, in Lithuania, within the scope of the project “The Rivers Tell”, supported by the Erasmus + program between the 27th and 31st of May. This project is developed in articulation  with the European School Club D. João II and takes place in partnership with schools in Lithuania, Greece, Italy and Romania. Its main objective is to get to know each of the regions of the partner schools,  the rivers nearby, as well as their environmental impacts. This visit was coordinated by Professor António Pina Braz and attended by teachers Helena Lourenço, Teresa Viras and Maria João Farinha, as well as the students Inês, Beatriz, Carolina, Miguel and David. It allowed to know different school lives, the daily life of Lithuanian families, as well as visiting the cities of Birzäi, Vilnius and Riga. The students were very pleased with the reception given by the families that welcomed them and showed great interest in the learning and sharing that they had the opportunity to experience. The teachers thank all those who made it possible to carry out their activities and the way they were supported in the works developed throughout the school year, which included exhibitions of works, sports activities, study of European issues related to the environment, contacts with European schools [through the e-twinning project carried out by

teachers Susana Stoffel, Sílvia Salavisa and Helena Lourenço ], and two trips to schools in European countries (Greece and Lithuania) by teachers and students that besides those mentioned before also includes Teacher Conceição Durão and students Diogo, Tomás, João, Beatriz and Marta.

Meeting in Monterodonto, Italy

21- 26 October 2019

In the week of 21 to 26 October, a group of 10 students and 5 teachers, belonging to the European Club of Escola D. João II, traveled to Monterotondo - Italy, within the scope of the Erasmus + project "The Rivers Tell".
There were several activities carried out over the five days, namely participation in Workshops, canoeing on a DragonBoat in the river of the natural reserve of Nazzano Oasis, cultural visits in Monterotondo and Rome, presentation of the ancient history of the territory of the River Tiber and the island Tiberina, among others, which culminated in a school party with music, dance and theatrical performances related to the river.
It should be noted that the students were accommodated in the homes of the host families, having thus had the opportunity to experience the habits and culture of the Italian families involved in this project.
It was a week full of sharing, new experiences and learning, strengthening bonds of friendship.
